Why Stewardship Matters

A Year of Transformation

2025 has been remarkable for Seventh Street Christian Church. Since moving from Grove Ave, we've welcomed new members, deepened connections through book clubs and Bible studies, and strengthened our service partnerships with Belmont Food Pantry, Soar 365, and VCU PACE Center. Our justice ministry with RISC continues addressing affordable housing and gun violence.

Your Vision for Our Future

We asked what you dream for our church. You told us, and our 2026 budget reflects your priorities:

  • Expanded children and family programming, including a book pantry and food assistance

  • Bible studies, book clubs, and educational opportunities for all seekers

  • Intergenerational fellowship and programming for every age

  • Justice work through RISC, homeless ministry, and LGBTQ+ safe spaces

  • Music, choirs, and creative worship

Tending the Garden Together

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth." – 1 Corinthians 3:6

We need $80,000 to meet our 2026 budget. While we have endowments and expect building sale proceeds, most endowments are restricted, and the sale won't bring funds for at least a year. We're currently drawing on savings from past generations' faithful giving.

Here's what we're asking: Can our community of 60 people support 20% of our budget through pledged giving?

Everyone give something—whatever you can faithfully steward. Whether it's $5 a month or $5,000, the amount isn't the point. The participation is. When everyone contributes, we're saying: "This garden matters. I'm invested."
